Description
In short: A small satellite communicator that works with your phone. You write messages in the Garmin Messenger app and inReach sends them via satellite when there is no mobile coverage. The SOS button is on the device itself.

Satellite communication requires a Garmin satellite subscription (monthly or annual, can be suspended). The subscription is bought directly from Garmin after activating the device.
Messenger or Messenger Plus?
Messenger Plus also sends photos and voice messages via satellite. If text and SOS are enough, the standard Messenger is more affordable.
