The stainless steel (AISI 316) RC10 Series rope/chain windlass is part of Maxwell’s upper mid-range line-up and is suitable for boats ranging from 9 m (30 ft) to 14 m (48 ft). The RC10 is a second-generation rope/chain windlass and is a favourite choice for cruising yachts, launches and pilothouse vessels, and light commercial operators. The intentionally simple design yields excellent longevity and performance figures and has contributed to a well-earned reputation for reliability.

Suitable for 8 mm (5/16") chain and 14 mm to 16 mm (9/16" to 5/8") nylon rope. The capstan version comes complete with a fluted stainless steel drum enabling independent rope handling operations.

Simple two-piece installation saves time and money and allows easy retrofitting without disassembly of the windlass. The spacer tube design allows installation through virtually any deck thickness, and multiple mounting positions with a self-aligning gearbox ensure optimal location of gearbox and motor. The heavy duty stainless steel (AISI 316) pressure arm and preloaded spring grip the rope/chain splice effectively; it works just as well with all-chain rodes. Large through-deck hawse pipe, manual override and 'free fall' with the emergency crank/clutch handle. Sealed oil bath, hard anodised alloy gearbox with precision worm drive.

Supplied with top works, motor/gearbox and dual direction solenoid; switches and circuit breaker are ordered separately. Important: Maxwell windlasses must be used with a chain stopper and/or snubbing device to take the load off the windlass while at anchor and to secure the anchor while under way.
